Smart Building Leadership Forum
June 5 | 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm | The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
In the early days, mechanical systems were typically free standing with little or no integration.
The second phase created systems for smart buildings, focused on the idea of integrating the disparate systems for efficiency and cost savings. Basic data acquisition and control of numerous systems brought into an integrated environment allowed for a centralized and more organized approach.
The third (and current) phase represents the next generation of smart buildings. The goal is open architected, interoperable, integrated and IP centric. This phase utilizes smart edge devices and the cloud and expands functionality beyond one building to include portfolios and campuses. It also goes beyond traditional building automation and incorporates additional building systems ranging from parking to irrigation. This phase has a heavy emphasis on the IoT.
This Forum gathers individuals and organizations that have been leading the way over the last 15 years, focused on the goals and aspirations of phase three. These are the true innovators, early adopters, pioneers, risk takers and market creators who continue to pursue the next iteration of smart buildings. Given this progression, the logical question is: What is next?
The Forum will 1) assess what we have accomplished in the last 15 years; 2) set a cohesive vision for what the next generation of smart buildings should look like; 3) discuss obstacles (both demand and supply side); 4) offer insight and guidance for those just starting the smart building journey; and 5) create an atmosphere of industry collaboration to mitigate risk and accelerate adoption of smart building strategies.
