He is one of the first in the Smart Building industry to address the inherent risk that control system technology poses. He has authored and participated in over 100 articles on building control cybersecurity with industry magazines as well as the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and Healthcare publications. In addition to publishing articles, for almost a decade he led control system cybersecurity workshops and has been a passionate speaker and teacher on the subject of building control cybersecurity.

Tim Vogel is the Director of IoT at KMC Controls, leading initiatives around cloud-connected products and solutions, including the IoT and automation platform KMC Commander. Working in building automation and industrial IoT since 2016, he manages channel partners across OT and IT segments, OEM partnerships in energy and solar, large-scale accounts, cybersecurity products, and third-party partnerships with many leaders in PropTech.

Brett Fisher is the Senior Director of Product Management for Workplace Service Delivery, and is tasked with defining and executing on the roadmap for the platform. Previously, he was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting, with responsibilities in leading the IWMS practice. Brett has a decade of experience in leveraging technology to enable the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) function. He has led real estate technology strategy engagements, inclusive of technology system selection and modernization programs. He has relationships with real estate leaders, orchestrated the relationships with a variety of technology partners, and is a published thought leader, commenting on the future of real estate technology.

Michael is the Managing Director, Intelligent & Digital Workplaces at Accenture and has spent more than 25 years helping workforces of major companies around the world change the way they work through the implementation of constantly evolving, innovative technologies. A recognized thought leader on the merger between people, places and technology, he has an ultimate passion for making workforces more efficient and effective through the application of technology, either to how they do their work or to the environment in which they do it.

Patrick Ghilani is the Chief Executive Officer of MRI Software, he has spearheaded productivity and client experience improvements while leading all client operations, including Professional Services, Client Support, and SaaS hosting. Patrick has led corporate growth initiatives targeting both geographic and innovative product expansion. Zander Geronimos is the Head of North America for PRODA, the leading platform for automating critical property data for investors and lenders and trusted by Blackstone, PIMCO and 100+ others. He leads relationships and communications with key players across the real estate value chain and the proptech community. Prior to joining PRODA, Zander was Metaprop’s Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. He’s also worked in strategic data analysis, marketing and solutions engineering.

Soheil Pourhashemi is currently EVP, Business Technology and is responsible for establishing and executing the commercial real estate IT strategy, vision and roadmap for the office sector. He has a keen focus on data and analytics, automation, IoT and partnering with the business in executing new innovations across the portfolio. Brookfield Properties develops and operates more than 650 properties and 325 million square feet of high-quality, sustainability-focused real estate assets around the globe. Justin Segal is an operations executive and entrepreneur specializing in real estate investment and management, startups, and technology. Robert Entin is currently EVP and CIO for Vornado Realty Trust, one of the nation's largest real estate investment trusts. Robert had founded Integrated Business Systems, Inc. in 1979 combining technical engineering expertise with accounting and property management experience to provide turnkey technology solutions for the real estate industry.

As SVP, CIO, Colin Joynt oversees the platform, implementation, and services team at BXP. Yael Urman is Silverstein’s Chief Information Officer and oversees the company’s technology initiatives and strategy. Ajoy Bhattacharya is a Senior Technology Strategist working within Microsoft’s AEC sub vertical. In his role he works with CIOs and other executives to strategize on their IT and Innovation plans. He also serves as an Industry Executive for the AEC space. Prior to joining Microsoft Ajoy was a senior leader in IT and Innovation roles at Suffolk Construction, one of largest privately held General Contractors and a leader in the Construction industry. His passion lies in disrupting the construction industry and some of his works has led to innovative solutions for this industry that were created on Microsoft’s platforms.

Sandeep Davé is the Chief Digital & Technology Officer for CBRE. In this role, Sandeep leads the company’s digital strategy and all aspects of technology globally. He and his team provide the technology capabilities and infrastructure to support CBRE’s clients and professionals across the globe. Prior to his current role, Sandeep served as Chief Digital and Technology Officer for CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions business with responsibility for digital enablement and transformation of the business.

L.D. Salmanson has extensive experience founding, advising, and investing in leading private technology companies. Prior to founding Cherre, he served as Executive Director of Oppenheimer’s Private Shares Group, after Oppenheimer acquired GreenCrest Capital, a firm he co-founded to enable pre-IPO transactions in some of the largest private technology companies in the world, including Facebook, Twitter and Uber.

Kira Dickson is a Technology Program Manager within Google's Real Estate and Workplace Services organization (REWS). She is responsible for evaluating and delivering technologies to enable REWS objectives, with a specific focus on Workplace Utilization. Prior to this, Kira was the Intelligent Environments Lead at the Google R+D Lab for the Built Environment, and an early employee at Comfy-Siemens (previously Building Robotics). Kira is passionate about leveraging data and innovation to transform our built environment.

Sabine Lam brings the digital building vision to the forefront of Google's Facility Operation teams, enabling a secure, integrated and scalable platform that delivers next generation services to realize 2030 sustainability commitments, operational efficiency, and support healthy and productive spaces for Googlers. Her responsibilities include leading the development of a Workplace Platform to efficiently integrate building systems, facilitating the transition to a digitized and connected real estate portfolio, and collaborating with industry leaders to inspire and enable industry transformation.

Sach Diwan is the Global Head of Data and Digital Products at LaSalle Investment Management. In this role, he oversees all strategic aspects of business technology and is responsible for driving innovation in global data and digital technology. Previously, Sach was a Senior Vice President at Northern Trust Asset Servicing, where he held product leadership roles in investment data science and investment operations and led numerous global implementations for investment operations outsourcing and outsourced trading for the company's leading investment management clients.

Pete Schow's career spans over 20 years in Information Technology with 17 years in various sectors of Real Estate. Throughout his career, he has managed multiple enterprise level initiatives in Residential/Multi Family development, Investment Real Estate, Commercial Mortgage, Debt as an Asset, and Private Equity. He recently joined Affinius Capital as Executive Director - Head of Data where he is focused on Data Management and Reporting Automation.

Ken Kurz brings over 20 years of leadership and operational experience in cybersecurity, network technologies, information systems, risk mitigation and remediation, and technical project management to COPT. Supporting COPT as CIO since 2016, he has prior experience as the CISO for the University of Delaware, CISO for the University of Oklahoma, and CIO for the US Naval Academy Alumni Association & Foundation. He has also held various technical and leadership positions within the Department of Defense.

Clare Meredith is a Technology Program Manager at Google whose primary focus is within the Digital Building space. She leads a process known as Device Qualification which ensures devices deployed on Google networks meet strict network and security requirements. Clare started her career in Real Estate in Facilities Management in 2010, before moving to CBRE in 2017 as a Project Coordinator for the Google Enterprise Network team. From late 2020 until just recently, she chaired the Building Controls Steering Committee for an Alliance, working alongside peers across industry to promote the importance of high standards in cyber security.

Simon Okunev oversee the strategy and execution of Tishman Speyer's Global Information Technology function. He has 25 years of experience building and leading teams, as well as developing and implementing innovative technologies and systems.

Brandon Van Orden is SVP & CIO for Cousins Properties Incorporated based in Atlanta. He is responsible for Cousins technical vision and all aspects of the Information Technology organization including people, strategy, development and operations. Prior to joining Cousins in 2016, Brandon was VP of Global Applications for Novelis and prior to that he was with GE Energy for 12 years where he held a number of IT leadership roles increasing in responsibility after he graduated from the GE Information Technology Leadership Program in 2003.

Edi Demaj is one of the Co-Founders of KODE Labs and is a key contributor to the vision and roadmap for the company. He is responsible for helping bridge the gap between technology, product and other areas within the company. Prior to KODE Labs, he was the Co-Founder of Rocket Fiber, top three fastest internet providers in America and a Managed Services provider.

Etrit Demaj, Co-Founder of KODE Labs, leads the company’s operations, with responsibility for businesses in North America and Europe. He also oversees the company’s ongoing expansion efforts into emerging markets. Before KODE Labs, Etrit helped run operations and sales with other companies in the industry.

Thano Lambrinos has over 15 years’ experience in the construction and building technologies space, and leverages digital transformation learnings across vertical markets to drive innovation and change in commercial real estate. At QuadReal, Thano works to deploy advanced technologies that redefine the way buildings are designed, built, managed, and how the occupants experience their environments. As Senior Vice President, he leads the Digital Buildings, Customer Experience & Innovation teams, and is focused on the development and execution of the digital strategy across a global real estate portfolio.

Shaun Cooley is the Founder and CEO of Mapped, the independent data layer for commercial real estate powering the future of PropTech. With over 25 years of industry experience, he previously served as Vice President & CTO for Cisco’s Internet of Things (IoT) Business, responsible for Cisco’s long-term IoT technology strategy. Prior to that, he was a Distinguished Engineer for Norton, by Symantec, contributing to the creation and advancement of offerings in the Norton portfolio. Shaun holds a master’s degree in computer science from University of Illinois and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He is an active angel investor and a start-up mentor through Forum Ventures. Shaun is named inventor on over 125 issued United States patents and was previously a director of the Open Connectivity Foundation and former board member of Attivo Networks.

Having spent most of his career within the Distech Controls organization with 15 years of experience in the industry, Ryan Sen most recently served as Director of Sales where he was in charge of the sales channel for the entire Canada. He has previously held a multitude of management roles within the organization. Ryan has also performed Business Development for the Distech Controls Energy Services division and briefly supported the Canadian Market in a Regional Sales Management role.

Farukh Aslam is the Chief Executive Officer of Sinclair Digital (SD) a low voltage design and consulting company developing Digital DC-Microgrid Buildings. In 2019, Aslam successfully developed the Sinclair Marriott Autograph Hotel which is widely considered the most diverse PoE and DC Microgrid project in North America. From the completion of the Sinclair Hotel, Aslam created SD to bring expertise of the sustainability and cost benefits of a DC building infrastructure to the marketplace. Since its inception SD has been involved in several design build projects and continues to evolve DC infrastructure in buildings.

Bob Kroon is the CEO and Founder of August Berres. August Berres provides applications for DC-powered workplaces, eliminating the need to install 120V power at every workstation. Bob has a forty-year history in electro-mechanical durable goods and the furniture industry. His career began as an Industrial Engineer for Maytag. His furniture background began in manufacturing engineering with The Hon Company in 1979. In the next 18 years, he served in assignments in product engineering and general management. His subsequent experience includes contract manufacturing for low-volume, high-value, high-complexity electronic enclosures.

As a key member of Stanford University’s Sustainability and Energy Management (SEM) team, Gerry Hamilton oversees the department’s long-term energy use planning; designs, implements, and directs assessment and outreach for sustainability programs; oversees business systems and analytics initiatives; and steers academic integration to aid program implementation.

Travis Connors is a Co-Founder and General Partner of Building Ventures, the firm’s Built Environment Innovation Fund and a Board Member at Smartvid.io. Travis has worked closely with emerging startups in the Boston area for the past seventeen years.

Gary Hopewell is a Cyber Security Advisor (CSA) with the DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Formerly, Gary was an FBI Computer Scientist for 10 years, investigating national security, and cybercrime for the Cyber task force in Orlando and St. Louis. He retired a US Navy Commander who began his career as a Surface Warfare Officer and retired as an Information Professional.

Ryan Knudson, is the AVP for Operations and Energy Management at Macerich. He is responsible for the development, execution and operations for all Capital Expense Energy and Smart Building projects as well as national program vendor management. He oversees the daily operations of Macerich’s portfolio with a focus on same center NOI growth.

Andy Schonberger is currently Vice President of Client Services at Intelligent Buildings helping clients with advisory, site assessments and managed services. He has 15 years’ experience in facilities management and technology, ranging from large industrial to commercial office where he has held engineering, project management, advisory and hands-on implementation roles for organizations including Earth Rangers, Cisco Systems and the Canada Green Buildings Council (where he was Past Chair of the Toronto Chapter).

Sunder Pappu has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He is currently the SVP Head of Technology Strategy at Inland Real Estate Group and is responsible for leading project management and application development for the IT department, while ensuring Inland’s technology strategy is aligned with businesses and that technologies are available to meet each entities’ unique business demands.

Alireza Pourhashemi is the VP of the Project Management Office and is accountable for the successful delivery of enterprise projects. He aligns initiatives with organizational goals and ensures projects contribute to the overall business objectives. He provides leadership to the PMO team and adopts a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and accountability.

Helane Stein is SVP, CIO of Brixmor responsible for the overall technology vision, strategy, systems and infrastructure that support business operations. She leads the implementation of transformational solutions that drive organizational efficiency, increase productivity, enhance collaboration and deliver results. Brixmor owns and operates a high-quality, national portfolio of open-air shopping centers. Its 632 retail centers comprise of approximately 64 million square feet of prime retail space in established trade areas.

With over 25 years of experience in the technology space, Sonny Thind brings valuable expertise from a variety of industries to the QuadReal leadership team. As Chief Technology Officer, he focuses on leading QuadReal’s IT team and driving the company’s vision through the strategic use of technology to support higher levels of innovation and customer service.

Clint Osteen is Sr. Director of IT and is responsible for directing Granite’s information services and telecommunications across the portfolio. Prior to joining Granite, Clint spent 10 years in consulting, providing commercial real estate companies technology and business improvement services.

Michael Coyne oversees operations strategy and initiatives at AvalonBay Communities, the nation’s largest multifamily REIT. He and his team help drive innovation across AvalonBay’s operating model – including leasing, maintenance, and resident experience – by incorporating new digital products, capabilities, and ways of working.

Susan Gerock currently serves as SVP, Information Technology and CIO for Elme Communities, formerly known as WashREIT. She has over 25 years' experience in various technology roles spanning manufacturing, consulting, application service provider and commercial real estate organizations. Her specialties include ERP selection and implementation, project and change management, and cybersecurity. She is also a proponent of the use of social media and the overlapping relationship between technology and marketing.

As of March 23, 2024, Paul Neff is the Director of Cyber Policy, Preparedness, and Response at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C. Neff has nearly 30 years of experience in cybersecurity and resilience, including policy research, coordination, threat intelligence, incident management, and critical infrastructure risk management and regulation. He has also held national leadership roles in the public sector.

With more 20 years in the construction industry, he is a highly accomplished Fortune 500 executive leader with exceptional vision, strategy and sales acumen complemented by proven results in business transformation models. With his unique background in construction, electrical, mechanical, and IT, Trent brings forward financial models to executives that impact the bottom line.

Joseph Martino has responsibility for Primaris’ overall Information Technology strategy. Darryl DeAngelis is the Director of Business Development for EBTRON since 2018, a well-known pioneer in thermal dispersion airflow measurement and control technology. He has over 40 years in the HVAC industry, four related patents and, obtained LEED AP in 2003. Darryl is a voting member of ASHRAE and ASTM, developing standards and guidelines focused on indoor air quality (IAQ), energy and sustainability, controls, and maintenance. He represents EBTRON as a member of the board of directors for ASHB, a partner of IFMA, AABC, NASECO.

Chad Langston leads the Global Product Group for the HVAC Building Automation Portfolio at ABB. He develops and executes Building Automation and Building Energy management solutions and provides go-to-market strategy to further penetrate key target segments, collaborating closely with Research and Development, Sales, Business Development, and Product Marketing. With 30 years industry experience, Chad provides entrepreneurial leadership, analytical thinking, creative instinct, and notoriety in in the HVAC Building Automation industry. He possesses a vast amount of industry knowledge and experience, and an understanding of ABB HVAC Building Automation’s differentiation in the market.

Tim Coombs has 20 years of experience managing technical facilities and projects across manufacturing, oil and gas, and technology industries in Canada, Australia, and the US.
